New looks coming your way
The current design has been around for almost five months now. When I made that design, I didn’t really aim for it to be a weblog and didn’t pay much attention to its functionallity. I must say that in that time the design was kind of growing out of me and thought I needed a new one.
After a few days of thinking and many drafts I created a version suited better for my blogging needs. Read the post to see a large preview.
Tell me what you think about this concept. It’s not fully done yet, but it gives an idea of what the looks will be.

Jo bra, i like it bra. Two things though; the perspective on top of the chimneys seem off. Also, I would add a shadow on the top of the block containing ‘Gaya design’ on the righthand side. Imo, this would make the sensation of dept a litlle more distinguished. Other then that, pure awesome!!

I made a 3D perspective design once, it wasn’t online for long though.
I like the concept but I think it needs a little work. The part which I am not ‘convinced’ by is where the blue post headers meet the right sidebar.
It might be cool if the sidebar were facing right instead of facing left. (make sense?)And one last comment ;) the perspective looks messed up because sometimes the angles slope at a different degree. (for example in the header – the left line slopes at a higher angle than the pink buildings on it – kind weird)
But I don’t want to sound like I am bashing, I love the concept ;-) just think it needs some refinement before you go build it =)

Don’t worry, I don’t think you’re bashing :) it’s just the kind of feedback I am looking for!It does look weird when the titles meet the sidebar. Tried a lot of things, but what you suggested didn’t even come up haha. I’ll look into that.
Your eyes must have deceived you on the angles thing. Because they are exactly the same (don’t look at the chimney hole, that one is messed up.)
It does need some refinement and I am working on thinking about little details right now.
This kind of feedback is just what I need. Thanks again.

i definitely like the early 80’s look to it. The depth is also awesome, something I have been experimenting with in my designs recently. But overall, it looks amazing. Nice use of color.
Obviously you need to change the right side widget headers. Larger with nice font. Try some helvetica with -1 or -2px letter spacing in all caps.
Just a suggestion.

The retro looks seems to be reaching it’s goal =D.
Will look for something to fix those headers. Was thinking about using a Javascript version of sIFR since a lot of people don’t have helvetica (including me…)

Wicked design, but I prefer the current version. As someone has mentioned the perspectives look wrong – if you compare the angle of the right side of the Gaya Design cube the angle is more obtuse than the far left side of the nav bar – could be my eyes or it could be intentional but it looks odd. Still, great design and a very useful site :)
